“Congratulations” on your engagement and “Thank You” for your interest in our dance band! We appreciate you considering us to be a part of your big day! It’s an exciting and terribly busy time for you right now, so my aim here is to give you as much basic information as needed to see if we may be a right fit for you and your eventgoers. So....... let's talk about the band!

Our fabulous dance band, "Impulse" is a 6 member band - trumpet/flugelhorn/male vocals; tenor sax/soprano sax/male vocals; guitar/male vocals; keyboards/sequences/backing male vocals; drums/backing vocals and female lead vocalist/mc.

Though we have an edited sample list on our website, we offer a huge range of popular hits from the most welcomed and recognized genres: jazz standards, smooth jazz, big band, adult contemporary, disco, modern rock, motown, oldies, retro/8o's, R&B, modern country pop, current dance and of course, love songs from every era.

We can also offer you discounted ceremony and/or cocktail hour musicians if you do decide to use us for the reception. (Which can offer a wonderful variation from the dance band atmosphere later). Overtime is also always available.

If your event is taking place outside the major Chicagoland area, a one-time travel fee will be assessed and determined before you sign any contracts. This is based on the mileage and the event location’s set up schedule for the event date. An early set up fee ‘may’ also apply to some downtown Chicago locations as well.

Other items of interest about us:

*TheKnot.com has listed us as a PREFERRED VENDOR by their own survey of brides that use their services for wedding planning. We were also their selection for entertainment for their Inaugural Vendor Bash here in Chicago in 2006. We are also a featured entertainment vendor with ChicagoStyleWeddings.

*We have been members of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau and have been featured at many of their networking and special events as well as served on their Ambassador Board.

*We are the house band aboard the luxury dinner cruise ship, Odyssey, at Navy Pier. This makes us all full time musicians and gives us the chance to perform a wide array of music styles and for varying types of audiences, making us flexible enough to fit any situation or musical needs.

*We are a full time business, not "weekend warriors" who receive recommendations from friends and family to play here and there or just play the bar circuit.

*I am the lead female singer/ mc and your personal contact with the band, not just a salesperson booking a job.
I have a vested interest in the total success of the event and the personal connection we will develop during the planning months to make sure the bride and groom and the band are all on the same page.

*We use a completely consistent group of band members, not independent contractors called together just for that date. We are always the same players at every event.

*We come completely self contained, so you do not need to rent any additional equipment or sound systems.

*We setup immediately prior to guests arrival in the room and we tear down only after the job is completely done. And you are not charged for this extra time.

*The band members do not drink on the job, unless invited for a celebratory cocktail by the bride and groom - we wouldn't want to be rude!

*We provide recorded background music during our breaks, which we are happy to make requested music available.

*We offer mcing of the event at no extra charge if you use the band for the dinner portion of the reception. This includes the preparation and lining up of your bridal party for introductions.

*With proper lead time (8 weeks required), we are happy to accommodate special requests for your First Dance, Father/Daughter/Mother/Son dance at no extra charge.

Finally, if you are in need of an event coordinator to help get you through the planning stages or just to deal with vendors and itinerary the day of or anywhere in between, I have 9+ years experience in event planning, both corporate and social, available to you at nominal extra costs.
